Koreatown fits restaurants, markets, and late-night energy into a few short blocks around West 32nd Street, and the people who live and work there rarely have time to hunt for a dentist. It helps even more when the dental team can explain your options in the language you feel most comfortable using.
SmileWorks cares for Koreatown patients at our Murray Hill dental office at 41 Park Avenue, Suite 1A, a short walk east of Korea Way. Our multilingual team speaks English, Korean, and Mandarin. Our doctors include Dr. Jin Sup Shin, a board-certified orthodontist and NYU adjunct assistant clinical professor, Dr. Hyo Sup Shin, who leads general and restorative dentistry, and Dr. Christine Yeojin Kim, an ABPD Diplomate who leads pediatric dentistry. New patients can book a free consultation.
Asking about a crown, a root canal, or braces is easier when you can do it in your first language. Patients who prefer Korean can ask for a Korean-speaking team member when they book, and families can talk through treatment plans, costs, and insurance together before deciding anything. For a Korean-language overview of our care, visit our page for patients looking for a Korean-speaking dentist in NYC.
Feeling at ease matters. According to the National Institutes of Health, nearly 1 in 5 adults has moderate to high dental fear or anxiety, and that worry keeps some people from getting care they need. Clear explanations from a team you can talk with openly can make a first visit feel far more manageable.
Comprehensive dental and orthodontic services for beautiful, healthy smiles at every stage of life.
Our orthodontic care is led by Dr. Jin Sup Shin, a board-certified orthodontist who also serves as an adjunct assistant clinical professor at the NYU College of Dentistry. Dr. Hyo Sup Shin, who earned his DDS at NYU and completed an Advanced Education in General Dentistry residency at NYU Langone Hospital, provides general and restorative care. For children, Dr. Christine Yeojin Kim brings board certification from the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry and pediatric specialty training from NYU.
Patients come to our 41 Park Avenue office from Koreatown, Herald Square, NoMad, and Murray Hill, along with commuters passing through Penn Station and Grand Central. Many book general dentistry visits for cleanings and fillings, while others come in for teeth whitening before a big event or an Invisalign consultation. Parents can also schedule children’s checkups with our pediatric dentistry team at the same address.
Most patients do not need to leave our office for specialty care. Orthodontics, oral surgery, pediatric dentistry, cosmetic treatment, and prosthodontics all happen at 41 Park Avenue, so a dental implant plan, a crown, and a whitening visit can be coordinated by one team. Our 3D X-ray, 3D scanner, and 3D printer help our doctors see more detail while planning your care.
We accept all PPO plans, check your benefits before your visit, and file claims on your behalf. Accepted plans include Aetna, Anthem Dental PPO, Cigna PPO, Delta Dental PPO, Guardian, Humana Dental Traditional Preferred, MetLife PPO, Principal Dental PPO, and United Concordia Advantage Plus. Orthodontic coverage is usually a lifetime benefit that can only be used once, so we explain how it applies before treatment starts.
