Between Riverside Park playgrounds, museum field trips, and packed after-school schedules, Upper West Side kids stay busy, and a cavity or a chipped tooth can throw off the whole week. Regular care from a children’s dentist helps catch small problems before they turn into bigger ones.
SmileWorks offers family-friendly Upper West Side dental care at 30 Central Park South, Suite 11D, a quick trip from Lincoln Square and Columbus Circle. Our children’s care is led by Dr. Christine Yeojin Kim, a board-certified pediatric dentist trained at NYU, and our Central Park South pediatric dentistry team welcomes toddlers through teens. Our team speaks English, Korean, and Mandarin.
From toddlers to teens, Dr. Kim tailors each visit to your child’s age and needs.
Not sure what your child needs yet? A checkup is the easiest place to start.
Baby teeth hold space for adult teeth and help children chew and speak clearly, so cavities in them still matter. According to the CDC’s 2024 Oral Health Surveillance Report, more than 1 in 10 children aged 2 to 5 had at least one untreated cavity in their baby teeth, and the share rose to nearly 1 in 5 by ages 6 to 8.
Routine visits with Dr. Kim help find decay early, when treatment is often simpler. Sealants and fluoride can add another layer of protection as new molars come in.
Comprehensive dental and orthodontic services for beautiful, healthy smiles at every stage of life.
Dr. Christine Yeojin Kim holds board certification from the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry and completed her pediatric specialty training at NYU. Her visits move at your child’s pace, with short explanations, a chance to see each tool first, and plenty of encouragement. For kids heading toward braces, she coordinates directly with Dr. Jin Sup Shin, our board-certified orthodontist and NYU adjunct assistant clinical professor.
Our Central Park South office welcomes children from Lincoln Square, Columbus Circle, and neighborhoods all along the Upper West Side. Teens can be seen for Invisalign or braces with Dr. Jin Sup Shin, and parents can book their own cleaning or teeth whitening at the same office.
The American Association of Orthodontists recommends a first orthodontic evaluation by age 7. At SmileWorks, that evaluation happens in the same office where your child already gets checkups, so Dr. Kim and Dr. Shin can review growth, spacing, and bite together. Some children benefit from early orthodontic treatment, while others simply need monitoring until more adult teeth come in.
We accept all PPO dental plans, including Aetna, Cigna PPO, Delta Dental PPO, and MetLife PPO, and we file claims on your behalf. Before your child’s visit, our team can verify benefits for exams, cleanings, sealants, and other preventive care.

Our office is at 30 Central Park South, Suite 11D, New York, NY 10019. From the Upper West Side, take the 1, A, B, C, or D train to 59th Street-Columbus Circle, then walk east along Central Park South. The N, R, and W trains also stop at Fifth Avenue and 59th Street. Service changes happen, so check the MTA trip planner before you travel.
Columbus Circle sits at the southern edge of the Upper West Side, so our office is close enough for an after-school appointment or a visit on the 1st or 3rd Saturday of the month. Having a board-certified pediatric dentist, an orthodontist, and general dentists under one roof means fewer referrals and one set of records for every child in the family.
Most children visit every six months for an exam and cleaning. Dr. Christine Yeojin Kim may recommend more frequent visits for children with a higher risk of cavities.
Yes. Sealants are thin protective coatings placed on the chewing surfaces of back teeth. Dr. Kim may recommend them as new molars come in.
